Getting Grief Right

888Dear Readers,
I am pleased to announce the publication of my book, Getting Grief Right: Finding Your Story of Love in the Sorrow of Loss. It will be released on July 1 by the publisher Sounds True, and can be preordered on Amazon.

Getting Grief Right chronicles my journey as a young grieving parent and psychotherapist through almost 40 years of counseling the bereaved. In Getting Grief Right, I describe the transformation I made from a belief that loss is a psychological condition in need of treatment, to a profound appreciation of grief as a unique story of love. It is my desire that this book will comfort those who question the intensity and length of their mourning by guiding them to embrace their own sacred story of love and loss.

I would also like to introduce my good friend and coauthor, Tim Madigan. He has authored several books, including I am Proud of You, My Friendship with Fred Rogers. Without Tim’s expert journalistic guidance and his unwavering belief in the book’s message, Getting Grief Right would not be possible. Please read Tim’s description of the book on his blog at timmadigan.net.
